Dr. Rutwik Shedge has been a life long practitioner of Forensic Science, being a graduate in Forensic Science from the Institute of Forensic Science, Mumbai (University of Mumbai), and post graduate in Forensic Science from National Forensic Sciences University, Delhi Campus (erstwhile Lok Nayak Jayprakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science - NICFS). He graduated from NFSU Delhi with the gold medal, and had Forensic Biology as his specialization. He secured AIR-1 in UGC NET-JRF (December 2015) in his first attempt, and enrolled for Ph.D. in Forensic Anthropology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jodhpur, which he completed in December 2021. He joined the National Forensic Sciences University, Tripura Campus in December 2021, where he worked as a faculty until August 2023. Since then, he has been working as an Assistant Professor of Department of Forensic Science in NFSU (India) Campus, Uganda. He has more than 25 publications, 6 book chapters, and one book on Crime Scene Management.
His areas of expertise include Forensic Anthropology, Forensic Medicine, Forensic Serology, Taphonomy, DNA profiling, Forensic Entomology, and Crime Scene Management. In his professional career in NFSU, he has bee teaching B.Sc., M.Sc., and PGD students of Forensic Science the subjects of Forensic Biology, Forensic Medicine and Anthropology, Forensic Physics, Forensic Ballistics, Fingerprints and Questioned Documents, and Forensic Science & its Application in Major Crimes.
