Dr. Ritesh Kumar Shukla is an Associate Professor at the Department of Forensic Sciences, National Forensic Sciences University, Raipur Campus (since September 2025). He previously served as Associate and Assistant Professor at Ahmedabad University (2014–2025), and earlier held academic positions in Forensic Science at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur and the Government Institute of Forensic Science, Nagpur.
He holds a Master’s in Forensic Science (2005) and a Ph.D. in Toxicology (Nanomaterial Toxicology) from Jamia Hamdard (2013), with research conducted at CSIR-IITR, Lucknow.
His research focused on nanomaterials synthesis, toxicological evaluations, and forensic applications. Dr. Shukla has received multiple awards, including the Forensic Excellence Award (2023) and the Young Scientist Medal (2022) from IAAM, Sweden. He was also recognized among the world's top 2% of researchers by Stanford University in 2022.
He completed a SERB-funded research project leading to an Indian patent (2023) for a nano-based lateral flow immunoassay kit. He has authored over 50 research articles, 20 book chapters, and edited three books on forensic nanotechnology, nanotoxicity, and microscopy. Additionally, he serves on editorial boards and as a reviewer for leading journals in forensic science, toxicology, and nanotechnology.
