Forensic Innovation Centre

The Forensic Innovation Centre (FIC) is created as a dedicated centre at National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) with an aim to promote development of innovative technology, products and devices for forensic investigations. The centre collaborates with potential stakeholders, viz. students, academicians, research scientists, industry partners, etc. and works on transforming selected novel ideas to real products for application in forensic investigative sciences through proper mentoring and financial assistance. NFSU in collaboration with the Govt. of India and Govt. of Gujarat jointly sponsors the Student Start-up Innovation Policy (SSIP) scheme, through which a large number of Research Projects, Proof of Concepts and few Start-Ups are currently getting executed under the umbrella of Forensic Innovation Centre. The centre also organises various sensitization programs and expert sessions for students to encourage them to take up innovative research projects, help them converting their ideas to products and also on protecting their ideas/inventions through patent filling. Our team of forensic professionals regularly identifies the diverse needs by considering the challenges of end users for forensic investigations in India and seeks to find solutions through research so that ultimately we as a country become self-reliant.
