About Program

M.Pharm program in Forensic Pharmacy is specially designed by National Forensic Sciences University to prepare human resource with multi-dimensional expertise who can serve in core forensic environment as well as in various departments of Pharmaceutical Industries and Pharmaceutical sector at large. Specializations offered by university under Forensic Pharmacy program are (1) Pharmacology & Toxicology(2) NDDS and (3) Regulatory Affairs and. Our alumni from this program are currently working in research or regulatory divisions of pharmaceutical multinational companies like Sun Pharma, Pfizer, Amneal, Zydus Cadila etc. Our pass out students also gets opportunity to pursue doctoral research in many foreign universities. Our students also get opportunity to work in Forensic Labs (through government recruitment) as scientist because drug abuse, drug duplication etc contributes in a major number of drug related crimes. Apart from regular academics, our students get opportunity to participate in real investigation cases being undertaken at the university related to product failure, reverse engineering and government funded research projects.

  1. Pharmacology & Toxicology
This specialization provides a unique environment of learning pharmacology dealing with both pre-clinical and clinical aspects of the subjects. It involves the study of forensic pharmacology which deals with various legal aspects where the study of pharmacology can be applied to various legal issues such as negligence in prescribing and administering drug including adverse drug reaction. The candidate with the specialization finds the jobs in pharmaceutical industries (R&D and clinical trial departments), pharmacovigillance programme of government agency, hospital and bio chemistry.

  1. Novel Drug Delivery
Systems The students of this specialization get benefits from a highly multidisciplinary research with experimental knowledge in subjects relevant to advanced pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics, novel packaging component, design and engineering of nano-medicine for different routes of administration, risk characterization and preclinical assessments of nano-pharmaceuticals. Day by day, newer diseases provide a new challenge to mankind to find medicine which can target the disease area in body. Drug delivery design plays vital role in launch of new therapy in the market. India is transiting to R&D based pharma industries and hence drug delivery experts are always in demand.

  1. Regulatory Affairs and Management
This specialization provides students the knowledge and skills required to fulfil vital roles in assuring adherence with the complex drug regulations necessary for the development, delivery and marketing of safe and effective health care products. The course work includes drug regulations of leading drug markets of the world and the principal strategies of product management in regulated markets. The students may find positions in RA departments of pharmacompanies, clinical trials and legal cell of pharmaceutical companies, vigilance and post marketing cells of government and private organizations, executive post in auditing of QA/Qc departments, scientific officers positions in government and non-government food and drug safety agencies, regulatory and patent consulting companies.

The University have a unique Training & Placement cell which has all its members having strong industrial and academic background. Students are trained rigorously in both theoretical and practical fields according to the industry norms to make them well-equipped to handle analytical as well as quantitative issues that help them to meet the challenges of the corporate world. Placement cell is providing placement assistance to all students graduating from the college.

The students are being placed in Production, Quality Control & Quality Assurance and Documentation & Regulatory Affairs, Research and Development sections of pharmaceutical industry, Marketing and sales, through on campus and off campus interviews. Few of the students have gone abroad for their higher study and few have started own consultancy.

As per the previous placement, students are working in various companies like Intas Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer India, Zydus Cadila Healthcare Ltd, Lambda Therapeutic Research Ltd., Veeda Clinical Research, Apotex Research Pvt Ltd, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Torrent Pharmaceutical Pvt. Ltd., Colgate-Palmolive Company, Adilac Pharma, Manglam drugs, Forensic Sciences Laboratory, etc.
