Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice-Chancellor, National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar delivered an expert talk on 'Virtual Labs for Digital Learning' in the webinar. It was jointly organised by the Ministry of Education and Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Delhi on 21st February, 2022. The subject of a webinar was "The Digital Teacher: Creating Quality e-content and Virtual Labs for Inclusivity, Better Learning Outcomes and Skilling".
Notably, the webinar was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. PM Modi also addressed on ‘Positive impact of Union Budget 2022 on the education and skill sectors’.
Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice-Chancellor, National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar said in his address that – Virtual Labs provides a complete E-learning management system using state-of-the-art computer simulation technology to demonstrate experiments in various disciplines. More than 700 Virtual labs are required for digital education. Simultaneously, we need Digital Teachers for Virtual Labs. These Digital Teachers will impart knowledge and develop skills with digital tools and technologies. Viz. Online Videos, 2D/3D Models, E-learning applications, Augmented Reality(AR) and Virtual Reality(VR) are part of digital tools.
The webinar chaired by Shri Ajay Prakash Sawhney, Secretary, MeitY and co-chaired by Smt. Anita Karwal, Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy. Other panelists were Dr. Sangita Reddy, joint MD, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd; Mr. Terry Durnnian, Chief Education, UNICEF India; Dr. Shabnam Sinha, Lead Education Specialist, India, The World Bank Group were present.
The moderator of the webinar was Prof. Ranjan Bose, Director-IIIT-Delhi. During the talk, Prof. (Dr.) S.O. Junare, Campus Director, NFSU and Prof. (Dr.) Naveen Kumar Chaudhry, Dean, School of Cyber Security and Digital Forensics were present.
