A landmark MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed between the National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar and VTO Inc, Colorado, USA on 10th April, 2021.
In the presence of Dr J. M. Vyas, the Hon’able Vice-Chancellor of NFSU an MoU was signed by Prof. (Dr.) S. O. Junare, the Campus Director, NFSU-Gandhinagar and Mr Steve Watson, CEO of VTO Inc.
VTO Inc. is a leading organisation that is working extensively on ‘Drone Forensics’ globally. It is noted that by the visionary direction of Dr. J. M. Vyas the NFSU has established ‘Drone Forensic Lab’ under the Centre for Futuristic Defence Studies (CFDS).
This MoU paves the way for closer cooperation and partnering in the new field of “Drone Forensics”. Close cooperation between the NFSU and VTO Inc. under this MoU would strengthen the Drone Forensics capability of India and act as a credible deterrence for Anti-National Elements and at the same time empower Law Enforcement Agencies to take punitive action where required. This capability will not only lead to larger cooperation cutting across the National Boundaries but it will synergise the efforts of the LEA across the Globe.
Drones are now being used rampantly by Anti-National Elements and Non-State Actors to target National Resources and VVIPs as well as smuggling of Weapons and Narcotics.
Ms. Michelle and Mr Terry Clark from VTO Inc and Air Commodore R. N. Gaekwad (Retd), Head-Center for Futuristic Defence Studies and Mr. Nilay Mistry, Sr. Assistant Professor from NFSU remained present at the virtual MoU Signing Ceremony.
