Orientation program
From 13th September, 2021 to 17th September, 2021, an Orientation program was organized. The objective of this program was to acclimatize new students with the academic atmosphere of the university and to make them familiar with Law school policies, processes, practices, culture and values. For the purpose of satisfying this objective, the eminent speakers from well –known institutes, industry and the field of law were invited.
 


Inauguration ceremony of the newly launched School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies
On 27th September, 2021 National Forensic Sciences University organized the inauguration ceremony of the newly launched School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies. This auspicious day was celebrated in the presence of Hon’ble Shri Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister, Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India.


A Distinguished Guest Lecture on the “Opportunities and Benefits of the international Legal System”

On 22nd October, 2021 School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies, NFSU organized a Distinguished Guest Lecture on the “Opportunities and Benefits of the international Legal system.” Prof. Stephen Barnes, an Assistant Dean, Graduate and International Programs, Penn State Law, Penn state University, Pennsylvania was invited to address students of B.Sc. LLB, LLB, Criminology and Forensic psychology.


Intra moot court competition

On 12th November, 2021, the first Intra moot court competition was organized by the School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies, NFSU, Gandhinagar Campus.
 


Moot Court Workshop

From 11th October, 2021 to 14th October, 2021, School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies of National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar, held a Moot Court Workshop for the students of B.Sc. LL.B. (Hons) and LL.B. (Hons) programme. Mooting is a court proceeding practiced at law colleges and institutions to make students familiar with the oral proceedings that take place in real courtrooms.
 


A Distinguished Talk by Prof. (Dr.) Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor, O.P. Jindal Global University

A Distinguished Talk was organized by the School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies, NFSU on December 6, 2021. The session was chaired by the Distinguished Guest and Esteemed Speaker Prof. (Dr.) Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor, O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat, Haryana.

A Distinguished Talk on the topic “Victimology” was organized by the School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies and the School of Forensic Psychology, NFSU on December 8, 2021. The session was chaired by the Distinguished Guest and Esteemed Speaker Hon’ble Dr. Justice Kaushal Jayendra Thaker, Sitting Judge of the Allahabad High Court, Uttar Pradesh.
 


A Two Day Colloquium on “Criminology and Criminal Justice Reforms.”

On 21st December & 22nd December, 2021, School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies and School of Forensic Psychology in association with Gujarat National Law University & Indian Society of Criminology organized a Two Day Colloquium on “Criminology and Criminal Justice Reforms.”

A Distinguished Talk on the topic ‘Cyber Crime Investigation: Challenges under IT Act’ was organized by the School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies, NFSU on January 10, 2022 through virtual mode. The expert speaker for the session was Dr. Nagarathna Sachidanand, Associate Professor, National Law School of India University, Bengaluru.

A Distinguished Talk on the topic ‘Social and Contextual Taxonomy of Cyber Crimes’ was organized by the School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies, NFSU on January 11, 2022 through virtual mode. The expert speaker for the session was Dr. Chintan T. Pathak, Managing partner Dr. Chintan Pathak & Associates Law Firm.
 


Global Law Learning Week

From March 2, 2022 to March 9, 2022, the School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies, NFSU, Gandhinagar conducted the Global Law Learning Week for the purpose of discussing and perceiving as well as understanding the diverse aspects of law with reference to different countries. The students from B.Sc. LL.B. (Hons.), LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M. got the opportunity to compare legal institutions of various countries and its framework. For the Global Law Learning Week, we had Prof. Stephen G Barnes, Judge Mel Flanagan, Dr. Jill Callahan Engle, Prof. Adam Dubin and Prof. Ylli Dautaj.
 


International Conference on “Law & Forensic Justice” in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research

On March 5-6, 2022, the School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies, National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar organised the International Conference on “Law & Forensic Justice” in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research. The conference aimed to provide a premier interdisciplinary platform to discuss the most recent innovations, trends and concerns in delivering justice and highlight the practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted. The sessions were graced by many esteemed national and international guests and dignitaries such as Professor (Dr.) Henry Lee, Founder-Director of the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science at the University of New Haven, Connecticut, Prof. (Dr.) Stephen Barnes, Penn State Law, Judge Mel Flanagan, Former Circuit Judge, Sarajevo, Bosnia , Dr. G.K. Goswami, Assistant Director-General of Police & Anti-Terrorist Squad, State of Uttar Pradesh and Justice Abhilasha Kumari, Judicial Member, Lokpal Committee of India and the Former Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court who was the Chief Guest of this ceremony.
 


One-day seminar on International Women’s Day on March 8, 2022 in collaboration with National Commission of Women

The School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Study, National Forensic Sciences University held a one-day seminar on International Women’s Day on March 8, 2022 in collaboration with National Commission of Women on the major theme of Identification of Abusive Relationships. We had the pleasure of hosting distinguished guests Justice Abhilasha Kumari, Judicial Member, Lokpal Committee of India, Government of India; Dr. Jyotsna Yagnik, Former Principal Judge, Ahmedabad; Judge Mel Flanagan and Prof. Jill Callahan Engle, Prof. Beulah Shekhar, Chair Professor, NFSU, Delhi.

The session was chaired by the Distinguished Guest and Esteemed Speaker Hon’ble Justice C. K. Thakker, Former Judge Supreme Court of India along with Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Dean, School of Law, Forensic Justice and Policy Studies and faculty members and staff.
